Thanks for all the help on Solar
To everyone on the forum and those at Q who helped us decide on solar and what we needed we would like to extend a big THANK YOU! We ended up with 4 140 panels, a solar boost 3024il controller with a INP-proremote, a Prosine 2.0 inverter, six AGM golf cart batteries and a transfer box set up so that when we are paying for electric and need shore power for the AC's we can use solar for most everything else. And as was mentioned by several of you we had as big a wire as possible installed. Once again, thanks for all the wonderful MOC help!

Just curious as to what you are using as a "transfer box set up"? Are you using what I recommended or something else?

It's a little different. We moved all the 110 circuits we wanted to power into their own box in the basement ceiling and then inserted a 30amp breaker in the old panel that will disconnect the inverter from the shore power. So if that breaker is thrown the shore power only feeds the items on the old panel that we don't power with the inverter. The rest of the time we leave that breaker on and if we need the generators to assist the solar, then the power they supply can flow thru and the inverter can use it to charge the batteries. Hope I explained this ok. Some of this is still sinking in.

Sounds like it will work. "then the power they supply can flow thru and the inverter can use it to charge the batteries." Did you mean to say converter in the sentence I quoted? We sure were sad we could not make it to the Q this year as I really wanted to show our system to you and others that wanted to see it. It also was going to be the first time we totally boondocked.

No actually I didn't misspeak, just didn't say enough. The inverter is also a converter. Our original converter is still under the stairs totally disconnected. If we sell the unit we can just plug it back in and strip all the solar equipment for our new rig.

Congrats Dick and welcome to world of Freedom by not having to hook up and still have power to draw on....
Good luck with the set up and hopefully you can post some pics soon!

Hi. New to forum, so please forgive any blunders.
Was wondering how you are going to repair roof holes from panels, when you go to sell?
