If You Order A Montana...
...be prepared for a surprise. We ordered our 3400RL on Jun 10 (Sat), the dealer called in the order on Jun 12 (Mon)...said it would be at least 10 weeks. Since Keystone shuts down for a few weeks during this period, I thought it might be longer. Jul 30 (last Mon), seven weeks later, the dealer called..."your trailer's here!!" That's great, except...but my truck's not due for another 10 days, and I don't think my half ton could quite do the job! Tomorrow we are going to due all the paperwork, PDI, then pay a hauler $1.50 a mile to haul it 30 miles from the dealer to where we'll store it...can't keep it home due to covenants.
At least we are getting there.

Can't the dealer keep it on the lot for you for free for that 10 days? He's the one who gave you the date you planned on. We ordered ours almost exactly a month after you did. We were in Goshen so stopped and talked to Keystone people. They said out the door in 5 weeks so I suspect your dealer was fudging a bit to make sure you were not disappointed if it were longer than that 5 weeks. He should store it for free or pay for moving it, in my opinion. But....
Congratulations on the new rig. I hope it gives you many years of enjoyment.
See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

Yea, I would hit the dealer up, we asked Naylor RV here in K.C. to bring her home, they said they would be glad to.
It was around 20 miles, (Right in rush hour traffic)
Like I have said, great dealer.

HI Cat320 - I think that you got a REALLY BAD DEALER......I am so sorry, anyone that would spend that kind of money and have a dealer that won't even tow it to your home????? or store it on his lot for a few days... That give's you an indication of what kind of service you can expect down the road. You should post the Dealerships name and address for all to see. You might even print the replys to this thread and let him read them..... I checked your profile by couldn't tell where your located. If you were close, Christa and I would tow your MONTANA home, for a cup of coffee (OR) and a chance to meet another MOC member. The Naylor Dealership in Kansas City would have never let you down like that.

It's not really a big deal...she offered to keep it on the lot for as long as necessary, but we want it here so we can load it, play with it and, of course, show it off. Didn't think to ask her to haul it up here, she probably would have...small dealer in a small town (that sells lots of Montanas). We are going to have it put in our regular storage facility (where it's predecessor was located), which is only about a mile from home.
When posting this, I did not mean to infer we were unhappy with the dealer or upset in any way...just surprised. I think this is the first time we have ordered anything large and it has arrived early.

10 weeks was stretching it..We were told 8 weeks and it came in 7 weeks and sat on the dealers lot for 2 weeks till we could get time off to pick it up. Anyhow the really good news is you have a brand new 3400. Wonder what will be different in yours???

Congrats on your early surprise. There isn't anything better than having friends over to show off your new Monty.
I threw a birthday/Monty party for my husband when we got ours back to our house. Happy camping to you!
