Progressive Fulltiming Policy!

Plese only information on fulltime policies..Alright here it goes. Progressive just quoted me for the 2007 Big Sky with 100,000/300,000 for bodily injury, uninsured motor, with $500 deductibles $1,393 or $108.64 a month. They will give a total replacement within 5 years. The totaL replacement cost of the the Big Sky is going to be $86,000. That's what we would be insuring it for. Is this a reasonable quote or should I call around some more? This is going to be a fulltime use policy only. Thanks everyone.

If it were me, I would shop around. Shopping cost you nothing and may save you big bucks. Just always be sure you are discussing comparable coverages deductibles, etc.

Does the policy have a deductible reduction if there are no claims over the initial year? There are many such extras to confuse what you are getting.

The deductible did go down 25% a year without any claims.

That is quite a bit higher than our full timers insurance with National Interstate but that is quoted from South Dakota as our home base. I know a lot states are higher. We pay right around $850.00 a year on our MOntana and almost the same on our 2005 Ford F350. The deductable goes down 25% a year if no claims. Ours was quoted at a $70,000 replacement and $20,000 for the contents. This price is about 1/2 of what we paid in Minnesota on our truck. Where are you based out of?

We have pretty much the same policy on our 2007 3400RL including the full replacement and disappearing deductible (starts at 500) and fulltimers insurance but replacement cost of 62k. We pay $349 every 6 months. National Interstate. It was 398 for 6 months but we just got a letter saying they now check credit ratings and dropped our premium to 349. A very nice surprise.

We also (like adelmoll) have South Dakota, a low insurance rate state, as our legal residence so that is part of the lower rate.

I had forgot to add the content to the policy. I added 10K coverage to the quote and it went from 1,393 to 1,477 just for the rv a year. The truck was quoted at $822 for 12 months. Has anyone had any claims with any other companies and how well did they handle your claims?? ie: National Interstate, Good Sam??

OOps...... Bill just told me that the new policy came effective June 1 and the premium is down to $675.00 for the year. I love these surprises too. We haven't had any claims with them and hope that we never do but all the reports that I have read have been good about National Interstate.

I'd shop around. We also are insured by National Interstate through Explorer RV agency and the cost is only $700/year for Texas. It's one reason we didn't go with Progressive. They are considerable higher than most companies.

I just got off the phone with Explorer RV and they are even higher than Progressive. They wanted more for the same coverages than Progressive. $1,078 a year for the truck and $1,514 a year for the Big Sky. The man at Explorer said it has a lot to do with where you live and your age. I think the age has a lot to do with it. He said by the time I reach 50 it will be about the cheapest it will ever be. I said great, something to look forward to before retirement.LOL I haven't yet checked with anyone else. I'll keep you posted.

Hello everyone, I ended having to go with Progressive, they seemed to have the best rate for us. We are going to to check with Nationwide just as soon as they offer it in Missouri. Nationwide said they were rolling out their fulltime rv policies state by state and they said they wouldn't have it in MO until mid July. Thanks for all the info.

I don't know your state but that will have an impact on price. Also, the 86k replacement value will have higher rates than those of us with 62k rigs are paying.

The numbers I quoted above are incorrect. That's for the truck. For the Montana with the same policy you have with disappearing deductible, full replacement, etc., is $638 per year with National Interstate. South Dakota is third lowest rate in the nation. I think our liability limits and deductible are the same as yours but I'd have to check.

Yours still sounds high to me.
