Magnum 2812 Inverter/Charger Install

The current project (one of them) is working on the Inverter install, mounted the Inverter on the Basement foreword Bulkhead.
I am using a second transfer switch in that location, this switches from the Inverter to a front located Generator if the need arises. I have a twist-lock receptacle there.
The Inverter will feed the Main Breaker panel,I have an 'On-Off' switch to shut off the Charger when the Inverter is in play. I added this so I didn't have to use the Inverter charger power breaker for switching, not good to use breakers for control switches. I decided not to use the switching relays, just too much to go wrong...'KISS'
I have 6 Golf Cart batteries in place, in the process of wiring them now.
(I have covers for the wiring bundle on the Transfer switch.)

Looking good Ozz. I know you must be excited to fire it up for that first time. You may not need that generator anymore other than for your air.

Thanks Joe. I am a wuss, so I hooked up a power wire via an extension cord from the shop to the Inverter output wires, (not connected to the Inverter) just to see if I screwed up someplace. There is a time delay from the transfer switch, but it kicked in and all as well, so I hooked up the wires to the Inverter.

If there is no smoke that is a good thing.

Ha! Yes, I would rather trip a shop breaker than smoke the expensive Inverter.
I learned a lesson about Inverters, you need to use a double pole switch to break both the hot wire and Neutral wire, to completely cut out the Inverter from a circuit. (Smoked an Inverter in the past..somehow.)

Ozz the more you use the 3812 the more you will love it. It was one of the first things I installed in our 3400 when we bought it. After using it for a while I just did not understand why they do not install one as standard equipment or least make it a option.

The problem with letting the smoke out of electronic equipment is that they won't work after that. That smoke is needed for correct operation and you just can't get it back in. I've seen it on occasion myself.

OK, I have to let you in on the secret, I take pictures like a person dropping bread crumbs, so I can get the project back together..
