A/C Bedroom Problem

The A/C in the bedroom is my problem. When I turn it on I can hear the Compressor Kick in but it doesn't get COOL. Any Ideas. We very seldom have used it in the last 6 years.

I'm assuming the fan does run. If so, and the compressor is coming on, your unit probably is toast. You can't add coolant to RV AC's.

Not to disagree with you Dick, but I've read if you can find the right AC Repair Person it is possible to cut the piping and add a Tee to recharge the system. But of course that would only work if there were no holes in the system.

Do you have the small square digital Dometic thermostat? Is it on auto or high or low?

Try turning on the bedroom ac before the main unit and set the thermostat to a low temp and the fan to some speed other than auto. This is the way I get mine to cool. After the bedroom ac starts cooling, then turn on the main unit. Hope this works for you.

The AC unit should be suppling 18 to 20 degree higher temps on the supply side compared to return side if is not then as Dick said you are toast
