My MH has what they call a heat pump but it’s not a heat pump. It’s a electric heat coil. So I’m wondering do the Montanas have heat pumps or an electric coil?

As the AC unit pumps out condensation with the 'heat pump' working I'll think it is not a coil.

I got to say one thing about the heat pump and that is that it does a pretty good job with no exhaust fumes. It's 39 degrees outside and I have my coach in my unheated garage cleaning the inside. After 20 minutes of running it is pretty comfortable inside and I don't have to open the bay doors to vent the exhaust.

Heat Pump has a reverse valve that reverses the AC unit. The evaporator Coil gets hot not cold when in this mode. If like a residential unit the air is only about 95 or so degrees will not satisfy the thermostat when very cold.
Go for that Propane Furnace!
The resistance coil has been an add on feature for years and as I mentioned a different animal then a Heat Pump!

It is a heat pump, not a coil. I have several units at work that have coils; it is easy to tell the difference.

They are heat pumps and mine does a wonderful job at about 34F outside.

Hi guys, Dave & Karen here from AZ, also with the 352rl. We have the heat pump too, but haven't used it. When should i use it. Do you leave the fireplace on with it. Thanks

Use the heat pump when it's above 35 to 40 above and you want heat. Yes, it is OK to use it while the fireplace is on.

Thanks for the info. We'll try it out tonight as it's been down to the mid 40s lately.

I wonder how heat pump power load compares to a/c load? The option we like most is the electric fireplace - when not paying for electric it really picks up a big chunk of heat requirement.
I would recommend turning the blower on for the furnace and filtering all the air coming out - first time we turned it on , it was loaded with all the dust from factory. Plugged up noses and made eyes itch.

Good day Andy,
We have the same model (3910FB) and the same AC units. The main living area has three functions, AC, Heat Pump and Furnace. The bedroom AC unit has AC only.
Hope that helps.
Wade
