Replacement steps
We are wondering if anyone here has replaced their entry steps? No functioning issues, just looking for something a little less steep. Ours are the standard aluminum 3 step with an 8" riser. Hoping to find something with possibly a 7" riser as I have back & knee issues & feel like I need to rely on the hand grip more to pull myself up than I should be. I've found a couple different kind online but wondered if anyone here has experience with any? TIA!

I recommend these from Flexco. They are a sturdy 4 step steel unit that pretty much bolts in. For the fivers that don't have the dropped entry step anymore ... 4 steps are great.

We replaced ours with Lippert replacements and like them. For our long term stays we get out this porch and put it up: http://www.sunrisedecks.com/rv-4-step-porch.html

Our 2014 3402RL was delivered with the Hickory steps. After the second recall on these steps...and I really didn't like them anyway...I purchased the ...new... 4 step...aluminum steps from Lippert. ...And we are totally satisfied! I noticed that most of the new coaches that Keystone showed at the Rally this year continued to have the Hickory steps ...BUT ...one or two of them had the new Lippert steps... which I hope is the direction that Keystone is now going to use on all their new products. We had ours replaced during the National Rally at the Tiara dealership in Elhorn.

Well we have the aluminum steps from Lippert - we have 3 steps. My complaint is they are steep, which is why I thought a 7" riser with 4 steps may be better. When we were shopping last year we looked at a Columbus that had what I believe to be the Hickory with 4 steps & I noticed a big difference when going inside. I didn't feel like I had to pull myself up with the grab bar & that's why we're looking to change them out. The ones from MORryde are nice but we are not full-timers. We use our camper for pleasure trips & are normally only in one spot for a few days at a time. So we really need something that folds in like the current ones.

Melannie--we have the four step set up and the rise is still 8". In fact, the space from the top step into the floor of the camper is actually about 9" so we're trying to figure out how to reduce that now!

Well we've decided to go to the RV Supershow in Tampa next weekend. All the reps & vendors are there so hopefully we can find something better than what we've got. Plus we're gonna take a look at steps of the various rigs as we walk around. Between both of those things we should HOPEFULLY be able to find an alternative.

Don't know what day we will be there, but if I see someone looking intently at stairs...I know it will be you. What I dread is the traffic getting off 75. Good luck, john

Haha!! I'm not sure what day we're going either but I also DREAD the traffic on 75!! We're coming from the south so the faster we get off the happier I am! Enjoy your time there!

EOM steps stay attached to trailer for quick stops.
