We selectively replace with wooden venetian blinds that match the woodwork. Home Depot or Lowes will cut to the correct width for you right in the store, and you adjust the length as desired.

This does make a very classy upgrade, we are planning the same thing when we start having failures.

the wood blinds sound great, I'm getting tired of replacing mine, the factory that used to repair them dont do it anymore, Mike Thompson wants 125.00 per hour labor, and cost for parts.
I have also been looking into replaceing with a different type also. 1retired06 how wide are your blinds 1 or 2 inches?
Has anybody purchased the aluminum silver reflective type?

We use the two inch blinds. When traveling, you do need to double check to ensure locked down, so they dont bang against the windows.

1retired06 thanks for that feedback, I was just wondering about the cornice boxes mounted at the top of the window with 2 inchers thats very close for mine it might be a problem clearance wise. I believe I will have to go smaller on width.
Sorry Mont I will leave your post to the original request now, I was just tired of repairs as you probably are.

When we built the new house, we put 2" wood in every window, different wood to match the furniture, and we have one set that match the wood in the 5ver perfect. I thought it was funny, if you look at the Keystone website, Montana High Country 343RL pictures, they have BLINDS, in several of the pictures (along with a picture from the living room to the kitchen and the cabinet over the L island is missing the door) yep someone didn't proof these to well.

I have been replacing mine with these 1" wood tone alloys. I am putting in the light color to brighten up the interior a bit. Got tired of messing with the day nights. Plenty of clearance for the 1" size. Have not tried the 2".

If you go to the fall rally in Goshen you may find one of my students teaching a blinds repair class. And to whoever is going to volunteer to teach that class please drop me a PM so I can send you a roll of blind cord and replacement grommets.. For those of you that done a full rebuild please tell them that is isnt all that hard. There are several stringing diagrams on the forum and if you need one and can't find it in the archives then check dirtyblindman.com. He has all you need to clean and repair them.... Dave (the other blind guy)

We have added the two inch blinds in selected windows in all three of our montanas with no problems. Everything fits just fine.
