how to trim foam mattress
I saw a nine inch thick king memory foam mattress in Costco tocay. About $660. How would one go about trimming this to fit?
Weight is about 130 pounds.

You should be able to trim it with an electric knife.

You might get a 6V drycell battery (square one). Run a long stiff wire from + to - (imagine a loop if you will) and use this "hot wire" to cut through the foam like butter. Be sure to wear some heavy work gloves because this will get HOT !!! No guarentees - it just seems like I've heard this before.

Wow, I was thinking of a similar rig that we used to have in design class that let us cut styrofoam blocks into models. Couldn't remember the details but I remember it would cut through styrofoam like it was hot butter!! We used the wire mounted on a big coping saw. Good idea.

Use an electric carving knife, always worked for me in the past. Most important.. measure twice (or three or four times, depending on the value of the piece to be cut)and cut once! Good Luck!

Also - electric knife. Fast and quick. Doesn't matter if the edges are a little ragged. Who sees them anyway? Electric knife did a nice smooth job in any case...
