Moving from a Lance 1985 to Montana 3121RL
Hello All!
We have decided to become fulltime Gypsies and are currently focused on the Montana 3121RL w/legacy option. Your advice/feedback/suggestions/opinions will help us work our way forward.
Thx, Bob & Nona

Welcome aboard! The choice of floor plan and options is very subjective. The one who needs to like it the most is you.
Personally I think the 2020 3121RL is a great model. Nice features and a great size for towing. You will want a minimum of a 1 ton tow vehicle. If you don't have one, or can't get one before you purchase then I'd hold off. It's a beautiful rig but please tow safely.

Welcome to the MOC from the NW. This group will help on anything Montana and RVing for sure. I looked at the floorplan and the 3D video and it looks pretty good. Coming from the Lance is definitely a big change. You will do good in any of the Montanas. Hopefully you have or will check them all out and when you "get that feeling", that may be the one . Good Luck and Happy Trails.

Hi from the SE coast of NC, well AL coast until April. Very few Montys can be pulled safely with less than a 1 ton. Brochure numbers from all builders are mostly very wrong. I was way over payload and slightly over gvwr with my 1 ton srw on our current Montana although the last one made all numbers.

My wife and I live in a 3121RL 6 months a year in Florida. It’s fits our lifestyle perfectly with 2 adults and 2 dogs. We did however have to upgrade our truck. I went with a 2019 F-350 dually just Incase of future upgrades.

We have had new 2019 3121RL 20th Anniversary Edition (not a Legacy) for a little over a year and really like it. We looked at so many fivers I lost count, but a few minutes after we walked into our 3121RL my wife said, “this one!” LOL. We pull it with a 2018 F350 SRW diesel With 11,500 GVWR and have been very happy with the towing experience. I’ve hit the CAT scales with it twice so far and trip ready it’s averaged 14,280 lbs with around 2,800 lbs of pin weight. So, while we are legal we are right near the weight limits, thus have to be careful to keep the weight down.

Greetings. We just purchased a 2020 3120 RL and love it. The kids are all gone. Just the wife and I and our golden. We pull it with a GMC 3500 SB. I added an auxiliary fuel tank and airbags. Truck is a beast and don't event know the Monty is behind us...unless the wind picks up. Safe travels.

Welcome to the forum. I think you will really like your 3121 RL. We bought a new one in 2018 and it has the legacy package. We pull it with a 2012 F 250 with air bags and haven’t ever felt like it couldn’t handle it. Been to Colorado and went over Wolf Creek Pass with it and two trips to the fall rally in Goshen.
As you will find out, you will get a lot of really good ideals and info from the host of Monty owners. When it comes to trucks you will get all kind of thoughts on it. Been on the forum for just two years and the debate still goes on.
Enjoy your Monty and try to come to the fall MOC rally in Goshen Indiana.

Same unit I have. Love it. I ordered the light interior and generator delete. Good Luck.

At the scales the truck is 14,020 with the aux tank full too but PW is almost 1000# higher. A bit over my srw payload of 3447 so a drw is what I bought
