We love ours. Have to change checklist to ensure inverter is on and functioning. outside of that it has been great.

We have a Whirlpool French door Fridge, 1000 watt PSW Magnum Inverter and 4 12V batteries. We've traveled over 35000 miles in the last 4 years and not a single issue. Would not go back to an RV Gas/Electric if you paid um, unless we intended to live totally off the Grid.

I am with you, I have had bad experiences with absorption refrigerator. I bought a new Montana 2019 and took it home and the refrigerator did work from the get go so the dealer had to put in a new one but they had my new trailer for 3 weeks, the new one works good but I think when it gets hot outside they just can't keep up and cool as good. I think the biggest problem is they are to big and they are in the slides where they don't vent the heat out. I am not worried being off the grid I have solar and a 2K inverter with 4 100ah lithium batteries, i was told to that the residential refrigerators won't handle the heat and beating they get from traveling on the rough roads especially in Calif. the roads suck LOL! Of course Lippert make a air bag kit to replace the Suspension that removes 75% of the vibration. I am just thinking ahead about changing the refrigerator if and when I have trouble with mine.

The samsung 18 cuft fridge only draws a max of 360 watts because it is based on an inverter compressor design. Also has dual evaporators so the fridge and freezer are able to be separately controlled and sealed from each other. I run 2 marine deep cycle group 31 12vdc batteries in parallel.

MHC had 1 dealer installed battery. Held up fine during 13 hours drive plugged into truck.
now we have 2 dealer installed batteries.
Inverter I think is a 2000W Magnum

We loved ours until...at 2 years of age (same model number as above) it literally just stopped cooling. After MUCH hassle (and 3 different repairmen, including one from DISH network????) Samsung finally found someone to replace my entire sealed system in the fridge. It lasted exactly one weekend trip and failed again...this time electronics went blank. Several visits later (WEEKS passed) it was “repaired” again this weekend by same repair company who informed us that the first repairman they sent made an improper weld and all the Freon leaked out. Wow. Haven’t put it back in the unit since we got back today. Not sure if I want to accept the risk.

We just installed a new Frigidaire FFBN1721TV 17.4 in ours. we finally removed the 1210 Norjunk after 5 long miserable years with that refer.

Don't know about boondocking with solar but we have the Samsung in our 3731FL. We have only the single size 24 battery the dealer installed and have had no problems. The truck keeps the battery charged up while we travel and one time during a power outage in a snow storm it went 12 hours on the inverter. Only one time the inverter outlet GFI tripped while we were traveling and it warmed up a bit, don't know why. Since then I have used a remote thermometer while traveling to monitor the fridge and not had it trip again. So far we are very happy with the res/fridg. We are just completing our second season snowbirding. Oh, and the icemaker is a nice bonus.
