Bulge near bedroom slide
I noticed a slight bulge in the side of my unit near the bottom, front corner of the bedroom slide. I'm not sure if this has been there before or if it is new. I noticed it because the seam was pulling away from the siding. It is hard to see in the pictures but if you run your hand over it, there is a definite bulge. No evidence of a problem anywhere else on the unit. I ran the bedroom slide in an out several times; it does not change.
I re-caulked the seam and will keep an eye on it, but wondering if anyone has seen something like this and how serious it might be.

I hope it isn't the same problem I had, but my separation like that wall caused by wall failure (welds broke).

I had a break in the studs and the flooring in the nose when my rig was barely 4 months old that had to go back to the factory to be corrected. There have been several others with a break in the same spot. It either pulls the bottom trim away or bulges right where yours is.
Here is the link to my ordeal if you want to take a read.

Ok, now I am worried. As I said, there is no movement when I run the slide in/out. Next time I hook up to the truck, I will check for movement.
My dealer can not look at it until late September or October. I'll be taking it in then to have slide awnings installed and will have them evaluate it at that time.
I have contacted Keystone and they have updated my file with the issue and photos; they said the next step was the have a dealer evaluate it.
Hope it is nothing serious.
Thanks for the advice.

There is movement in that area of all 5ers with the bedroom slide. That is why they all started putting that expansion strip there. I know my unit moves quite a bit while traveling down the road. I can see it in the rear view mirror since I have one of those large levels mounted on the pin box.

What about when it is sitting still? Can you run your hand down the side and feel a bulge? Sticks out about 1/2".

The title made me laugh out loud. lol
Now, to your post, do you have a leak and maybe a water bubble in it? What year and model? Can you see any ripples or anything in the bedroom or closet or even from the basement?

Nope. Just, the protrusion (is that better?) on the outside wall. I have not noticed anything else; I'll take a look.

Hi Scott,
Are you planning on going to the National Rally in September???
You might want too and have the factory look at it and fix it for you while you are there.

No, we went last year. Might go again in 2019. It is a little late to plan for this year.

My situation not quite the same, however, I have 2003 3295RK. Siding next to bottom rear corner of bed slider started cracking, it cracked all way to bottom edge. I noticed someone had placed trim piece on opposite side in same location. I assume it is a flex problem with overhang. One shop told me it could be weld problem on structure. Have been using unit for several years without problem. At this point and given age of unit I will not pursue fix. I have heard story of entire overhang breaking free.

Scott, without seeing it in person, but what you have sounds exactly what we found on our SOB last year. Tech used a moisture meter and confirmed that we had moisture causing delamination. Traced it to a small area in a seam that was missing sealant from the Factory, so they agreed to fix it even tho we were out of warranty.
Fix involved cutting out the bad section and installing a new section and repainting.

I believe this is flex in his as the welds have broken at the base of the stud right at the bottom of the slide. There have been a few that ripped the side of the rig open when the slide was opened. Will try to remember to get a pic of one when I get home.

Just left our 2015 at the dealer's today. Large living room slide doing something similar right where lower cable enters the body. From the outside the wall is sinking in and on the inside the wall is pushing out. Measured each side of slide in the out position and found a 1" difference. I came on to ask if anyone else has experienced such.

This is the friend of mine's '16 3711 that broke after returning from the factory after repairs. This was 2.5 weeks after repair. It is the front bedroom slide.

WOW that's pretty nasty. Looks to me like the slide motor pushed the slide too far out. Maybe not adjusted correctly. ?

Have a Montana 2018 3121 that I was bringing back to the factory to get a lot of problems fixed that Holiday World couldn’t seem to fix. On my way up to Indiana from Texas mine did the same thing. It looked just as your picture did. They said today they thought it was a weld that came loose on the aluminum frame. The are working on it now.

I hooked up to the truck today and watched for movement as the weight was transferred from the jacks to the hitch. Sure enough, there is. The first photo is with weight on the jacks, the second is with weight on the hitch.

I had the exact problem with my 2006 Everest it cost 3 grand to have it fixed in 2009 required welding there around the base of bed room slide they took the front cap off and the skin at the hitch as well to get at it.
