Roof vent siliconed shut.
Hey folks, my 2021 Montana has a black roof vent which I think is the toilet vent possibly (round black). There is a glob of silicone over it that says “pull to remove”.
Is this silicone to be removed by the dealer except they forgot?
There are actually 3 of these vents and all are siliconed closed.

These vent out of the bottom. The silicone is covering the screw hole that secures the cap to the pipe.

If you are not having any problems dumping your tanks, leave them alone. First time you clip a low hanging tree branch and it rubs the roof of your camper, it will pop those right off and then you'll be buying another one that most likely won't fit at all. I've lost all 3 of mine and have replacements on them, all are Jerry-rigged because I couldn't find matches for the original.
Now, if your vents are sealed tight so no air can get into them, and your vents are now causing a vaccuum, preventing filling them up or dumping them, then that's another matter. But if your tanks are working, don't mess with these, until there is an absolute need to. More than likely, the caulking is the only thing holding them on right now.

Yep, covering the screw hole. What stands out to me is why use twice as much needed and smear it around? No big deal on the roof but I think the same guy used that technique on our interior wall paneling.

I just ordered replacement vents for our unit. Seems after almost 7 years in the sun they are extremely brittle, with one missing most of the center of the cap.
Most fun will be digging out the sealant to get to the screw for removal.

I don't think they use UV rated plastics on these. They do get brittle in short order. I've thought about spray painting the covers with UV rated paint as they get replaced.

Screwed shut? Mine just pull of. Some kind of spring clip with friction against the inside of the pipe.

When we bought our 2006 two of the three caps were broken or gone. I was able to buy replacements at the local RV dealer. Had to buy the complete vent, but the caps on the new ones fit the old ones, so i just replaced the cap. Works great.

These covers are like mushroom caps. They vent around the bottom edge of the cap. Yep, looks like a big gob of silicone was used when a small one would have done a better job. The silicone was supposed to fill the screw-hole, so only about a half-teaspoon was needed.
