I would call your good buddy ... well I'd call him "Mr. Lucky". I change mine once a season no matter how few miles I drive ... cheap insurance. I split a case with three of my friends ... drives the price down per filter. It does make a difference where you buy your fuel, but you can't always choose the high volume stations ... and there's no guarantee with them. JMHO
