Refrigerator icing

We have not had our setting at more than 2 ..temp stayed at 38 to 40 degrees.. We were told at a seminar at the Fall rally that you should not keep one of those fans in the fridge as it interferes with the natural circulation and that you should not line the shelfs or pack the fridge too tight..We took our fan out and will give that a try. We are sure the setting will vary with temp and humidity conditions..
