Information help with axel assemblies

HELLO TO EVERYONE. I NEED SOME TECHNICAL INFORMATION. I HAVE A 2014 MONTANA BIG SKY 3850FL. I BROKE A SPRING AND NEED TO REPLACE THE AXELS AND ALL THE SPRINGS. i WOULD LIKE TO UPGRADE TO 8K IF POSSIBLE SINCE HIGHWAYS IN ALASKA ARE SO BAD. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND THESE? MY MAIN ISSUE IS I CANNOT FIND INFORMATION ON THE LENGTH OF THE AXELS. I WOULD LIKE TO GET THE ENTIRE UNITS WITH NEW HUBS BRAKES AND SPRINGS JUST TO BE SURE EVERYTHING IS GOOD AND SAFE. THANK YOU FOR ANY INFORMATION.

Crawl under your rig and look for the axle tag.
This is a pic of my 7000 lbs axle tag...

Edit: Information shown on my label...
HF (hub face dimension) = 86.5"
SC (spring center dimension) = 68.5"
You can see the tag on the front axle in the distance. The information and serial numbers are the same on both tags of my axles.

If your tag is gone, look on the center rear side of the axle. It might take a little wire brushing, but you might find the serial number there. You can then look for the 8k or Gladiator replacement.

The Dexter Axle manual is in the files section

https://www.montanaowners.com/forums...rt=date&page=2

Here's a link to Dexter Catalog. It will have the part numbers for the 8K axle and 4K leaf springs.

https://www.dexteraxle.com/Products/...les/Light-Duty

Be aware, the 8K axles and 4K leaf springs will be stiffer (harder ride for your rig).

I broke a spring in 2022 between Destruction Bay and TOK.
I purchased a spare set (US Steel springs-not import) that I will carry on my next trip north.

When you finalize what axels you will be using,
take a look at the Moryde X factor cross bars.
They will help strengthen/reinforce the hangars from side loading.

I went to etraler for the springs. Went from 4 leaf to 6 leaf. Be careful especially if roads are rougher where your going. I went from California to Oregon and going to 6 leafs May have been overkill. Ride was rougher than normal and closet downs knocked off rails.

Do yourself a favor and stop messing around with the horse and buggy suspension that's been on campers forever.
Get your unit to mor ride in Indiana and have them put there ndependent suspension on it possibly with the disc brake upgrade.
Trust me it is a night and day difference and you won't be worried about anymore suspension or brake issues ever. Not cheap but the best money I've ever spent

My 2023 Monty came equipped with the Road Armor suspension and pin box. Does anybody know if this is good or bad? It seems to be pretty smooth except in Indiana.

Lippert road armor is a good product. The standard for Montana. Lippert does offer upgrades. https://store.lci1.com/road-armor-sh...lue-2021015191 Personally I'm ok with both the equalizers and the pin box. The pin box has a rotating head which helps. If money were no problem and I we're to upgrade, I'd install independent suspension with disk brakes and a cushioned pin box. But sadly.... not in my future.

I have been pleasantly surprised by the ride we get from the OEM suspension and pin box. Of course I would love to upgrade both at some point...just need to water that money tree!

Here's a link for Dexter Axle and a distributor that came up for Wasilla. Looks like the same company is in Anchorage too.
