Stove and Refrigerator in Slide
I was wondering if anyone who had the units with these appliances in the slide have had problems because of it. I really like several floorplans 3400 and 3670 but had about decided against because of possible problems.
Thanks for your input.

We have had our 3670 for about a year with no sign of any problems relating to the appliances being in the slide. We picked the 3670 floor plan because it allows full access to the interior with slides in. This can be important if you are inclined to stop over at places where you can't put the slides out, like rest stops, Flying Js and Wal-Marts, otherwise both are fine designs.
I did notice that when we were parked beside a simialr HitchHiker II, that their plumbing and wiring seemed to hang down and be more exposed. Keystone seem to have found a pretty slick way to hold the wiring for the slides.

Our experience has been the same. No problems with the slide or the electrical connections. Matter of fact, the slide that we had a problem with was the one with the couch and dining table. The clinder started to leak but Lippert (and MIMF) replaced it under warranty.

Full timing for 6 months in a 3400 and no problems. We travel with the gas on so the refrigerator is always on.

So far we have not had any problems with ours. It is a 2001, with about 85000 miles on the unit.

No problems with our 2 year old 3670. I agree about the floor plan. It is nice to be able to get from one end of the unit to the other with the slides in.

No problem with ours. Love the fact that you have plenty of room for access to refr. when slides are in.

Our first Montana was a 2001 2880RL bought new in January, 2001. Fridge and stove both were in a slide. No problems. Traded it in July, 2002, for a new 2003 3295RK. Both those appliances are in a slide on this one, too. This Montana is now 39 months old. We've fulltimed in it for 31 months and about 35,000 miles. In May we found a crack in the freezer compartment at the junction of the top and rear walls. Dometic determined it was "not caused by undue stress application" and replace it under warranty. In other words, its location did not play a role in the development of the crack.
So, from our experience the location of the appliances in a slide in the Montanas is not an issue. I can't vouch for other brands and their engineering but in Montanas it seems to work well. Hope this helps a little.

We have the 3295 that has not only the stove and refrigerator in the slide, but also the television and fireplace. We have had no problems with the slide unit. Having said that, the refrigerator, tv, fireplace and all GFCI outlets are on the same circuit, so without changes, one must be careful what to plug in to the GFCI if the fireplace and TV are both on. (We added an outlet to the circuit for the Microwave in the kitchen area to avoid the problem)

This last trip out I had a problem with the GFIC and breaker tripping for the kitchen area when connecting to shore power. They would reset and everything would be OK until the I plugged the Monty in for the third time. The breaker would reset but the GFIC would trip. After looking for loose wires, checking all circuits I found the 110V supply line to the kitchen slide had been pinched to the grounding bolt for the frig when retracting the slide. Re-spliced, re-taped and pulled existing ties and repositioned the wire and everything is now OK.

Had our 3400 for 6 months about 10000 miles and no trouble with the appliances in the slide. Did have trouble with floor in kitchen, slight bow in floor on frig side, in shop for repairs now to stop slide out from rubbing on floor.

no porblems with our 2003 3280, lots of counter space and I, being the cook really enjoy the countersapce. We also like it because when we have friends over when were out and about I can join the conversation too while still paying attention to the stove.
