Finally back home
Two weeks vacation including the Mid-Atlantic rally and an unexpected two week additional stay while fighting a flea infestation at the S&B and we have returned home. An interestimg month to say the least! Sat on the front porch this evening and witnessed a welcome home sunset! Hopefully the trials and tribulations are over and we can get back to the normal hustle and bustle of the work week!

Does sound like it's been an eventful few weeks for you. Hope it's all downhill from here.

Word of advice Bingo. We fought the flea thing last summer. It was a 3 mo. deal that we fought and fought until we got a good vet that told us what we were doing wrong. First of all we were using Frontline which doesn't work that well anymore especially when you give them a bath a couple days after applying the ointment, which directions say are ok to do. But another vet said don't use flea soap use Dawn dish soap its easier on the animal. Well guess what, dawn gets rid of oil, and guess what frontline is?
To shorten this we ended up using Comfortis which is a pill. We also used a spray can which came from the vet also for the carpet and bedding areas. Closets anywhere a flea can get. Let that dry and vacuum. The vet says this will get rid of them, but the key is to spray once again 3 weeks later as now the babies will be born. We did as instructed and haven't had a flea since.

Thanks Dave,
Sounds something like what we are doing. Ironically, the fleas are not on the dog and cat, and we do use frontline. I think they were originally carried in from the yard by one of us, not the animals since they are primarily house pets and the only one that goes outside is the dog and then only to the end of the street to her designated spot. We had Terminex come in and spray the entire house when we returned from vacation since hatching had occurred while we were gone, have vacuumed the entire house for eight consecutive days and finally Saturday night before we returned, I again sprayed the entire house with Adam's carpet spray. We have seen a couple of fleas here and there from hatches, but will keep applying the Adam's carpet spray as needed. It has been about 30 days from the original outset where we used flea powder on the entire house before we left for vacation. I am hopeful that we are nearing the end of the cycle. It has been a rough couple of weeks and for some reason now I deeply abhor vacuum cleaners!
