T.P.
We've been fulltiming now for over a year so I know what we're suppose to use. I seem to have problems with T.P. getting 'clogged' in areas on it's way to the Black Water tank. We use the standard 2 ply 'Thetford' RV stuff ONLY. Question: what would happen if we used standard 2 ply T.P.? I only ask this because thought the RV stuff should 'decompose' but seems to act more like 'paper masche'?

Costco TP. "Safe for septic" right on the package and no problems.

And so is POM from Sam's Club. Have used it since first trailer 12 years ago.

We have used Angel Soft for years with no problem. If in doubt, put a few sheets of chosen brand in a large glass of water, shake it, and if it rapidly breaks up then you are good.

Whatever TP you use ALWAYS use PLENTY of water! Have been full timing 8+ years and no problems doing so.

8 years of fulltiming with Scotts RV paper and no problems. You can buy it at Walmart in the RV section or from Amazon or other places.

When I purchased Happy Camper tank treatment, I did an experiment (at the suggestion of whoever took my phone order). Put water and small amount of Happy Camper in glass jars. I tested Camco RV toilet paper, Costco, and Quilted Northern 2 ply, each separately. Quilted Northern disintegrated the most followed by Camco. Costco still was in a semi sheet state although it did break up when agitated. The others broke up without agitation.
Used Quilted Northern on 3 month trip, no issues.

X2 with DQDick. We have always used Scott's RV sold at Walmart no matter what RV we have had with whatever type of toilet. Never any issues.
It must be a favorite among RVers because during high season in SW Florida most Walmarts have a hard time keeping the shelves stocked with it.

We also use Scotts RV never a problem. We buy it by case off Amazon when we need it.

Or put T.P. in the trash? We started doing that over 10 years ago when we had a major blockage. Nobody seems to mind diapers in the trash. Saves water too.

Any TP is okay IMHO, but always use more water than you think necessary, ALWAYS!

We have been full timing for eight years and use only Charmin or Northern. Always have adequate chemicals in tank and have never had a problem.

Once in a while jack up the camper so that the outlet is much lower. In my case nose high. Fill and empty two or three times to clean it out.

It’s a delicate subject but we stopped putting any paper in the tank. Put a small waste basket in the bathroom and use the so called T shirt bags. Your black tank will be very happy and so will the person cleaning the tank.

We've used Angel Soft TP since we started RVing over 13 years ago. Make sure it is septic tank safe and use plenty of water when flushing the toilet. We also started using Happy Camper tank treatment for over 10 years ago and it definitely helps break up ANY solids that go into the tank. I recommend both for usage in the black tank. I also put a backflush system on the end of the sewer line when setting up and can wash the tank out both with the built-in backflush system and the end of the line back flush system.

I read that the paper was clogging on the way to the black tank. This is a different problem than it clogging when dumping. If the problem occures between the toilet and the tank there is only a short distance of pipe to check. Somethingg must be amiss in that pipe or where it enters the tank. This happpned to a friend and hers was a different problem, she alllowed her tank tog get too full, the material clogged in the pipe and did not drain when she dumped it. Had to use a coat hanger to break it up. Nasty job, but poop happens.

Have been using Costco TP and it doesn't break down. No way to agitate it when sitting in RV park or campsite. May buy some Scott's from Walmart to see if it does better. paper now comes out in clumps after flushing twice.

Yes there is a way to agitate it. Under your water in outlet in your service bay is a Black Tank water in adapter. Connect your water hose too it and it will backflush/agitate all the water in the black tank. I attached two garden hose quick disconnects to those inlets with an off/on plastic hose valve on each . Works good to flush the system. I also picked up a flexable black tank cleaning water wand/hose at Camping World. Hold open the handle for the bowl and feed the wand down the hole into the tank and move it around. It sprays water from all directions and dislodges anything stuck. Works great.
