Reese 15K head
I changed my Reese 15K hitch head to a 20K head.The 15K head is available.If anyone is intewrested, PM me. If you are going to the Fall Rally, I can bring it to you.

I just did the same thing. Jim was here first, so mine is available only after Jim's is gone or you live out here and aren't going to the rally.

I didn't realize you could change the head without changing the brackets. I'll be looking in to changing my 16k for a 20k myself! Thanks for the info.

Guess we lucked out when we bought our Monty. Told CW we needed a hitch as part of the deal, they offered a 16K, I said nope, want an 18K, they said didn't have an 18K how about a 20K, I said Deal. What is interesting is that the 20K is now listed as 22K for the same exact part number, but haven't been able to get any info if they changed something or just retested and raised the rating.

We bought a larger Monty and I've been thinking of changing out my 15K Reese hitch, but changing the head seems the best way to go....BUT, just what is exactly the head?? Is it the upper part that you can take off by pulling the one large pin?? OR is it the complete part that pins into the rails with four pins?? Many thanks.

It's everything above the 4 bolts. Take out the bolts, the old head comes off, bolt the new one on.
