Hand rail
Someone in our park had a practical joke played on them while they were in unit. It appears if someones closes the grab rail unless u have 6 ft arms u can not reach handle from window.
Has anyone come up with a safety lock for the grab rail. Yes there are emerg exit but they are not friendly unless u have a fire forceing u out????

That's not very funny unless the jokster is standing nearby to move the hand rail back. You could very well damage your door and the hand rail trying to get it open.

These handrails are designed to be very easily opened when put across the door. If you look at the grooves the handrail sits inn open position it is deeper than when in closed/across door position.
I tried ours when I seen this same issue posted earlier this year, and had NO issue opening door when it was across the door panel.

There is a previous discussion of this concern HERE with a number of provided solutions.

After reading this, I went outside, closed the door, closed the handrail across the door, and easily opened the door and the handrail swung open when I opened the door. I'm not sure what the problem is, unless a handrail is not working properly.
This is a YouTube video I just did, hope it works

Never had that happen but we tried it and DW had no problem opening the door.

Could be that a different make of camper with a different hand rail works differently, but you wouldn't think so.
