Siding crack

My 2003 Monty 3295RK has developed a siding crack at bottom rear of bedroom slide opening. I know fivers experience flexing on overhang but wonder if this cracking is a known problem. What, if any, repairs have members used for this problem?

Assume measurements should be same or close for both sides.

this was a problem with older models, the crack exactly where yours shows.

obvisousily it is a stress crack but not sure if it is worth fixing at this age. just seal it and that's about all you can do without spending tons of money.

They fixed this with a cut expansion joint like on the montanas today. Jayco still has this problem with there big 5vers because they wont install that joint.

I figured it was stress fracture as this is large piece of siding spanning overhang with no relief. One repair shop wanted to tear off overhang siding and check for weld problem. I've had it this long without nose departing body so will not go that route. Replies appreciated.

I had a stress crack like this on my 2001 2955. It is worth fixing so water won’t get in the siding. What I did wis seal it with silicone then I found a piece of white plastic molding and siliconed it on. It looked fine and protected my camper at least until I sold it several years later.

I'd drill a small hole to stop the crack then fill with silicon. Next I'd be looking for a decal to cover and not worrying about matching paint.
