We use ours exclusively and it works good. We also have the beater brush head. You'll find when you go full timing in Oct, '14 that storage space will be a premium. We opted to use a Bissell carpet shampooer in the space a portable vacuum would store in. We full time with 2 Maltese dogs and a cat so we shampoo about ever 2 to 3 months. It's amazing how much dirt 16 feet can drag in.
