We are about half way up the Alaska Highway. This is our 4th trip to Alaska but, the first time we have had the time to drive.
As an Ex-Californian I strongly suggest that you do to Alaska. As expensive as fuel is (highest so far $6.25 per gallon) fuel will never be cheaper.
