There are folks that watch MPG closely like the school I drive for..2 or 3 MPG drop in fuel mileage over 90/100K miles a year add up. We keep very accurate fuel logs and last year when Diesel was 1.00 more per gal than gas the school fell back on the smaller Gas busses they have for awhile. I list MPG low on the justification list of why I would buy a truck or motor.There are other things far more important.
