I've been making Ice Cream for over 35+ years. Ice cream will start to soften a about 5 degrees and you usually can scoop it around +-8 degrees F. I've asked this question here before as my refrigerator is 32 degrees and the freezer is 8-10 degrees F. There is no adjustment to lower the freezer temp only. I was told to live with it. I would check the door seals. Stick a dollar bill all the way around the door between the seals and the freezer itself. Assure that there is the same resistance all the way around and if not adjust the door. Frost in the freezer is also an indication that the door needs to be adjusted tighter.
