Hyundai and Kia are virtually the same company, they share R&D and Administrative Functions but still have seperate manufacturing facilities. My wife drives the Kia version of the Santa Fe: the
Sorrento. It has been a really good vehicle over the last 2 years with only one trip back to the dealer for preventative recall to install a shield on the front struts to keep salt spray from deteriorating the coil springs. Most likely that problem would not surface until it was way out of warranty but they were proactive.
It has 3 rows of seats, the last row is reserved for little people only (my grandkids). The second and third row folds to create a lot of space to carry cargo. I have the V6 which does 26 on a trip and 20 around town. I was going to buy a Toyota Highlander until I checked into the projected lease residual values of both. The Toyota was projected at 55% and the Kia Sorrento was 58%. Given the fact that the Highlander was almost $15000.00 more it was a no brainer for me.
