Our 2012 also opens to the inside and we have plenty of room. Are the bathrooms on the newer models that much smaller?
With our early 2015 3610 the 48" shower is centered on the wall with about 18-20" space at each end/side so our bathroom is longer perhaps only by say 10" but that allows the door to swing in and still be able to get around it.

I am guessing our hallway is that much longer as well hence why when they first went to swinging a full door out in to the hallway one had to step in to the bedroom to get past the bath door to open it and then enter.

Just goes to show that a few inches here and there really count.
