My lens is a Nikon 18-70 mm f 3.5-4.5. I just experimented on the exposure time. With no wind, the 30 to 45 second exposure worked for me especially with the trees that were not moving. I did not get star trails but was not trying too. I am pleased with the results and will try more night shots.
