I take it, that one 4X8 sheet of plywood is enough to attach (48x60) to the platform in the slide area. Is the platform 30" from the slide wall to the hinge?
Original platform was 72W X 48L and section from the wall to the hinge was only 25 leaving me the overhang. I put in a piece 58WX53L. It was a section from an old home made ping pong table that had been special ordered. I have seen where some just scab a 10 or 12" piece to the end to eliminate the overhang and the mattress absorbs the bump. Since I had that oversized piece of plywood I decided to keep it one piece. I needed 78" total length for a regular queen mattress. We bought a Nectar mattress in a box and we love it.
