Just my thoughts and operation advise on hydraulic sides and leveling systems … as attested to, the hydraulic pump can draw a fair amount of amps at normal operation. I've seen some operate their slides and landing gear with "determination" as in continuing to lay on the switch well past the time the slides or landing gear has stopped movement. There is no need to do this as all it does it cause the pump to draw even more amps. Once the slides are in or gear is up, I immediately let up on the switch as holding it in for another 5-10 seconds is useless. You can readily hear the pump start to strain once movement has stopped.
