On our 2010 we never did anything special when we replaced the batteries. On the rear stabilizer, it could be the motor. Many rigs of that age had the hole where the wires intered the motor open so water got in and the motor died. I carried a wrench that fit my drill that I could use to raise and lower the stabilizer if needed.
