Can't answer the "why" this happened, probably the result of one of those running changes that Forumco make from time to time.
I checked my profile, and found that I was from Ontario, USA. I just needed to make the change in the "Country" field to make it read "Canada" and that fixed that part of the problem. (Don't forget to click the "Submit" button after making the change.) I suspect that the system defaults to USA, and anything else has to be manually changed.
