I don’t recall anyone ever having it totally fail. Typical scenario is slides start moving, breaker trips, slides stop, few seconds and breaker resets, slides start moving, breaker trips, ........... Sometimes takes 3/4/5 cycles until slides reach full travel. But eventually do. Never heard of anyone stranded because slides would not move at all due to that breaker.
My 1st 50 amp breaker began tripping after about 3 yrs. Replaced it with another 50 that lasted about 2 yrs. Then bumped up the amp rating.
