Still reading all the manuals on my new truck. Correct me if I am wrong.

Using the Tow/Haul mode uses the transmission to slow the down hill speed while towing or not towing. If you push the " Diesel engine brake " switch on the dash board a light will illuminate in the instrument cluster when this feature is switched on. You can use this feature with tow/haul to provide further increased engine braking.

Can this feature be used when not in tow/haul? Should this feature always be used while in tow/haul?
