There are 4 cable per slide. Two work to close, two to open. If you climb up on a step stool, you will see two bars with adjusting nuts. They are labeled in and out. BAL has an installation manual that show how each camle is actually run - to involved to describe, but an interesting look at. You need to scroll down a bit in this page then open the .pdf:
