We also have the low-pro in the bedroom, and it does make more noise than the main unit, but we get used to the sound. We tried using the main unit at night, but with the temperature senser for it located in the main living area, it would get hot in the bedroom. Using the unit in the bedroom keeps it comfortable all night.
