Scott I probably could have got away with 100 also but I didn't want to make a trip back to the RV store and exchange them, the new mattress is much heavier than the original. we just push down a bit harder and it takes a trip down.
Rondo ouch! I'm glad you were able to get it sawed down.
I did encounter a slight bit of a problem of sliding mattress on the smooth wood though, I will go to Bed Bath and Beyond and buy one of those rubber mats that you put under a floor rug to prevent sliding that should solve the sliding problem.
My Monty is 11 years old now and replacing the mattress support gave me the opportunity to inspect the slid mechanism for any wear. all was good.
