The awning controller began to show a sensor error, flashing lights between the power and sensor speed setting. Dometic indicated the sensor is probably bad. Ordered the "kit" sensor, controller, and new remote. Replaced them this morning and the same problem persists. I have verified there is continuity in the wiring harness end to end to the sensor. Also, there are no shorts between the three wires to the sensor.

Has anyone experienced this problem and have you found a solution?

I guess the new controller and sensor could be bad, that just does not seem likely.
