It's actually not the location that's the issue. They are in a "good" spot, and if I was going to install a different type of motion light, I would probably want them right where they are.
The issue is that the current ones are just super sensitive to movement. You can be 6' away, sitting in the couch, and lift your hand to point the remote at the TV, and the light will come on. If you're sitting in the living room, they are constantly coming on all night long, even when you're not sleeping there. The problem is worse in the night, because you're sleeping, and not lights are going off every time that you move...
