It's the small things

We just came back from our 2nd outing with the new Montana. We went Dry Camping for a few days and then a one night stay at a really nice Garden RV Park with a beautiful view of the Cascades. If you are ever in the Central Oregon area - I highly recommend the Bend/Sisters Garden RV Resort. We met another new Montana owner there that had the same model and we were able to answer some questions for each other. I steered them toward this site as there is a lot of knowledge in one place.

On our way back we had an appointment with our local dealer to stop by and get a couple of small things fixed, as they could do it while we waited. Murphy's Law took over - when we got there the sewer boom retaining strap broke - so just one more thing to add to the fix it list. When they finished with our repairs and brought our Monty back out to us - we opened the side compartment to put our chairs in and screws went flying. The entire strut and bracket pulled right out of the door. What better place to have that happen and right in front of the repair person. They said there is not enough wood in the door to hold the screws and support the 80lb strut used. They immediately got to work and repaired it using rivets in place of screws. He then removed all the screws form both side doors and replaced them all. It seems to be a lot more secure. He said to watch it and they would replace with lighter struts if needed. I cannot say enough about the service at All Season's RV & Marine - they go the extra mile!
