Hi

The Federal regulations that allow a double tow on the Federal Highway system require the front trailer to be a fifth wheel type of hitch, the front trailer and the second trailer can’t exceed 28.5 feet in length and all trailer axels must have brakes and a breakaway breaking system.

Florida incorporated this in the Uniform Traffic Code sometime in the last year or so and made it legal for personal use vehicles as well.

Our Montana is 39 feet long so we are not allowed to pull a second trailer in Florida.
