If you've bent the pad on a tree stump ... perhaps you should return to the pavement????
Your fiver is not light on pin weight ... is your truck squatting? What is your truck? Is it an old hitch ... or new hitch that perhaps wasn't installed correctly as in too far to the rear of the axle centerline? Give us some more info.
