Really glad to hear about the ferry trip. That was a question on another thread. We like that trip, too. It's not quite like taking the ferry from San Fran to Sausalito, but it's a very relaxing ride. Padredw- Although the park is at the opposite end of town from the ship docks, it's only about a 15 or 20 minute drive, AND you'll get to see the entire city of Galveston. To see the most "stuff", take Broadway all the way to the Seawall (I-45 turns into Broadway as it gets onto the Island). Seawall, going west (right), takes you straight to the park.
