According to the RAM information on my 2014 4x4 Crewcab Diesel Short bed I have a GVWR of 10,000# and a payload of 2330#. Payload=GVWR-Base weight. Base weight if 7,673#.

So payload is pin weight + pull rite hitch 200# + all the stuff in the bed of the truck + 150# for the driver.
My payload is probably overweight. But I can tow trailer and equipment of 17,160#.
