The truckers fuel surcharge came about years ago when the truckers threatened a slow down. The government allowed the truckers to tack on the surcharge and so now the consumer not only pays at the pump but for every product you purchase that has anything to do with the trucking industry. There are few products in today's world that do not rely on trucks. From the raw materials to the final delivery and most everything in between.

Before anyone thinks I'm knocking truckers, I am not. As I stated in a different thread I was once a trucker and a Teamster at that. It is the oil industry that has done more for the rising prices in most anything we buy today. In some way shape or form everything we buy relys on oil.
