Ours failed in first month and was replaced under warranty. What I learned is that you can buy a replacement (probably different brand) at sears, walmart, etc. for less than $90 bucks, and the install is extemely easy. Probably less than the gas to take your trlr to the dealer! Just make sure you measure your unit and either keep the face plate or get one that is the same size!
