On the advice of Progressive Industries, we had to bond the neutral and ground together on the input from the generator to the EMS. It can be done with a dedicated pig-tail or in our case, our rig came with the IOTA smartswitch and I bonded them together on the generator side of the switch. As a side note, I have a dedicated front receptacle that I use only for the generator hookup, so based on that I would say a dedicated bonded pigtail would be the route to go.
