This always becomes a topic of major debate on many forums. I ran Stanadyne Performance formula in both of my Dmax and VW TDI engines. Now that I'm running a Cummins I don't. There is no real reason other than I just decided not to use it. I do not have to worry about my fuel in cold temperatures given my location. Since you are in a cold climate you may want to use something to prevent fuel gelling. Other than that I think it's really up to what makes you happy.
