I used industrial strength velcro on the awning tube and the led strip and purchased an extension that allows me to use the 120v adaptor with an outlet at the bottom of the awning support arm. If I have to retract the awning, I just unhook the power supply a d retract the awning with the led's in place. I did not want to mount on the rig since ours is painted. It works great for us with the remote that came with the led's from amazon. Counting velcro and additional conne tors, total investment of $70 or so.
